Ista was established more than 110 years ago as Clorius, a Danish pioneer in energy and water usage management. The company has maintained a presence in Poland for 23 years, since then becoming an industry leader on the Polish and global market. Ista is an international company operating in 24 countries across the globe, as well as one of the leading companies specialising in energy usage data management and individual heating, water and general utility costs billing. Its four offices located in Gliwice, Katowice and Opole employ more than 1300 people responsible for data management, utility usage billing, accounting and financial services, as well as IT support. The company has maintained a presence in Poland since 1993 and has held a dominant position on the market with a 31% share, providing its clients with meter reading systems and comprehensive billing services. Ista performs readings and bills more than 5,000,000 utility meters in 1,200,000 flats every year, with 80% of those readings being done remotely. Ista’s list of clients numbers 8000 satisfied customers, including housing cooperatives, real estate managers, housing communities, gminas, Social Construction Associations, developers, architects, designers and technicians. The Opole office was established in 2014 and currently employs 240 people specialising in offering services in the German language. The branch is looking to increase this number to 260.
