800th Anniversary Park in Opole

The new city park is located on Bolko Island, in the vicinity of the zoo. On the 10-hectare illuminated area, between the Oder and the Ulga canal, pedestrian and bicycle paths, a modern playground and a family and leisure zone have been created. Everything is surrounded by greenery such as trees, shrubs and flowers that arouse delight especially in the springtime.

Around three thousand trees and several thousand bushes have been planted in the park. The entire area is complemented and decorated with a huge flower meadow – a paradise for bees, bumblebees, and other pollinating insects. In the central part of the park there is the “Opolans Square”, which is to commemorate the most outstanding inhabitants of our city.

Alongside the walking paths, there are also routes for cyclists and inline skaters. Children have not been overlooked either, for whom dedicated educational boards have been installed, and one of the largest playgrounds in Opole has been established.
